INFOGRPHIC COMPETITION -2024

On 22 March 2024, Infographic Competition -2024 was organized by the Department of Management. Department invited students of all departments to produce winning static infographics by participating in the Infographic Competition 2024. The theme for the competition was Static Infographics on any economic and social development issues in India in 2022-23. There was a total of 19 teams, each with two members. The event was organized as an exhibition. The Students Notice Board Area housed all the posters. All the faculty members evaluated the posters and wrote the number assigned to the poster that they thought was the best among the rest. The faculty coordinators for this event were Dr. Roopali Sharma and Dr. Priyanshu Sharma. The student coordinators for this event were Surmai Sharma, Kushagra Bhaktiani, Kritarth Awasthi and Astitva Kumar. The First position was bagged by Madhav Modi & Neeti Vyas, Second position was secured by Lavina Devnani & Kushargra Bhaktiani and the Third position was secured by Tanishq Tayal & Manan.  

Industrial Visit to Dainik Bhaskar Printing Press, Jaipur

Department of Management, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Jaipur Campus organized an Industrial Visit for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students to Dainik Bhaskar Printing Press Jaipur, Rajasthan on 15-3-2024. Along with providing them with technical knowledge of a printing press, this tour gave students exposure to a variety of practical aspects of media-related operations and enhanced their understanding of the significance of coordination, punctuality, and problem-solving abilities of a newspaper.  This visit has been well appreciated by the participating students and teachers. The Department of Management, BIT Jaipur is thankful to Dainik Bhaskar, Jaipur for hosting this industrial visit.

Industrial Visit to Mahindra & Mahindra Tractors Plant

Department of Management, Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Jaipur Campus organised an Industrial Visit for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students to Mahindra & Mahindra Tractors Plant at Mahlan, Rajasthan. This visit exposed students to various practical aspects of Manufacturing, Operations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Resource Management for their enhanced learning experience. This visit has been well appreciated by the participating students and teachers. The Department of Management, BIT Jaipur is thankful to Mahindra & Mahindra Tractors for hosting this industrial visit.

Industrial Visit to Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. (Bakery and Confectionery Plant) Neemrana, Rajasthan

Management Students were taken for an industrial visit on 13/10/2023 to Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. (Bakery and Confectionery Plant) Neemrana, Rajasthan. Parle G is an Indian private limited company. It owns the famous biscuit brand Parle G. Executives at plant explained the working of the plant and gave an insightful presentation related to the working of the plant and its production. They also explained the automation of the plant which follows the highest hygiene standards. Students were taken around the manufacturing plant and were explained about the production and packaging process. Overall, the activity was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations within a manufacturing plant.

Industrial Visit to Havells India Ltd., Neemrana, Alwar

 The students from the Department of Management went for an industrial visit to Havells India Ltd at Neemrana Industrial Area. The industrial visit held on 13/10/2023 was a remarkable learning experience for the students. It allowed the students to gain practical insights into the industry, witness real-world applications of their studies, and better understand the nuances of management in a professional setting. Students gained valuable insights about product offered and they also learnt about modern manufacturing process of production at Havells India Ltd. The students from different specializations perceived the operational floors in different manner. The company is using Kaizen and Six Sigma approach in production and operations management. Advanced Robotics Production System is followed for manufacturing which is one of its kind in Asia.

G-20 Prashnotri

The Department of Management of Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Off Campus Jaipur, organized a G-20 Summit Quiz on 4th October 2023. The event aims to challenge the knowledge of the students about one of the most significant international gathering in the world. The event focuses on the students noesis of socio-economic political issues and the basic knowledge about the G-20 Summit held at New Delhi.

Around 80 students from Management and Engineering domain participated in this event. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ritu Pareek and Ms. Purvi Mathur. Student coordinators for the event were Surmai Sharma of MBA III, Diksha Sinha- a Ph.D scholar, Aman Kumar of MCA III and Kritarth Awasthi of B.Tech I Semester. The winner of the event was Team Ingenious (Siddharth Pareek & Sangam Srivastav of B.Tech Semester III).        

Workshop on “Financial Education for Young Citizen”

The Department of Management of Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Off Campus Jaipur, organised a two days’ Workshop on Financial Education in association with National Institute of Securities Market (NISM ) as an Educational initiative of SEBI in collaboration with Kotak Securities on September 11-12, 2023.

Around 80 students from Management and engineering domain participated in this event. The resource person for the event were Dr. Ishu Tayal who is currently serving as a Senior manager, Regional Head - West at NSDL (National Securities Depositories Ltd.). He shared his valuable insights and information regarding the Stock markets, Commodity markets, process of investing in primary and secondary market, mutual funds, trading in stock market and Carrer in Securities market.

More than 80 students participated in the workshop. The speaker encouraged the students by explaining the importance of financial literacy as a tool which empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their finances and how it enables individuals to understand the impact of their financial decisions on their overall financial health, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. Certificates were issued to the students by NISM and NCDEX.

The Event was coordinated by Dr. Roopali Sharma and Dr. Priyanshu Sharma. Student coordinators for the event were Surmai Sharma of MBA III and Kartik Sharma of B.Tech CSE -V.

 

BUSINESS BUZZ 2023

The event was about the quiz related to business domain covering basic terms and contemporary knowledge-based questions related to finance, marketing, and Human Resource domain. The event was organized on September 06, 2023 in the Seminar Hall between 12:00-1:00 P.M. The students participated enthusiastically. Students Coordinators of the event were Abhyudaya S. Rathore, Sarthak Sharma of BBA V, and Shubham Jain, Tanishq Tayal, and Manan Tak of BBA III semester. The winners of the event were Hardik K. Alex and Pranav Harbhajanka of BBA III Semester. Faculty coordinator for the event was Mrs. Purvi Mathur.

 

An Invited Talk on “Management Research Landscape: Past and Future” was conducted on 28th July 2023 by Dr. Nishant Kumar Verma

An Invited Talk on 28th July 2023 was delivered by Dr. Nishant Kumar Verma, Faculty in the Production and Operations Management area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). The topic of the session was, “Management Research Landscape: Past and Future,”. In the session, Dr Verma suggested that some fundamental theories in the management research were developed in the past and some practice-relevant applied research being conducted recently. However, we are also struggling to keep a delicate balance between good research and publication outcomes. We need to discuss it more as an academic community to refine our research practices.

Ice-Breaking Session for BBA new entrants on August 2, 2023

Ice-breaking activities play a crucial role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports the goals and outcomes of a BBA program. With this objective a session was organized for BBA new entrants on August 02, 2023, where all the students participated enthusiastically. It helps students in developing interpersonal skills, adapt to new environment, and lay the groundwork for successful academic and professional experience. Dr. Ritu Pareek, Assistant Professor, Department of Management coordinated the event.

An event on Brand Recall was conducted on August 03, 2023

An event on Brand Recall was conducted on August 03, 2023. The students had picked a chit with a product name on it and they have to write the brand names related to the product to identify their awareness level, promptness, and recall of brands in 30 seconds.  Madhav Modi and Rajat Gupta showed exemplary performance and recalled more than 10 brands in the respective product category. Faculty Coordinator for the event was Mrs. Purvi Mathur, Department of Management. Abhyudaya Rathore, Sarthak Sharma, Sanidhya Kumar of BBA V, Sonia Sulania, and Disha Taneja of BBA III were student coordinators.

 

Workshop on Communication Skills

A Workshop on " Communication Skills" was organized by the Department of Management for school students on April 24, 2023. The workshop comprises the activity-based learning session on Communication Skills and the Competition on Writing Skills and Pictionary. Certificates were provided to all the participants and the winners in the event.

PICTIONARY

The Language Club of the Management Department organized an event “Pictionary” on March 21, 2023 under the guidance of In-charge Management Dr. Roopali Sharma & Language club coordinator Dr. Ritu Pareek where the participants narrated a story based on the picture displayed to them. Time allotted to the participants was 10-15 minutes for the write up and 5 minutes for the narration.

Student coordinators for the event:  Kashish Singhal (Btech 6th Sem) and Sarthak Sharma (BBA 4). The winners of the event were: 1st Position Yash Raj B.Tech (6th Sem EEE)and 2nd Position Hardik Malik  (BCA 2nd Sem).

An Event on Infographic Poster Competition

On 18 January 2023, the Department of Management at BIT Mesra, Jaipur off Campus conducted Fin-Pro Graphics, an event for designing digital posters on “E-rupee”. Several students participated in this event, which was open to all departments. There was a total of 15 teams, each with two members. The event was coordinated by Dr. Roopali Sharma, Mrs, Pankaj Sharma & Dr. Priyanshu Sharma.

The event was organized as an exhibition. The Students Notice Board Area housed all the posters. All the faculty members and students gathered close to the board during the break. All the faculty members and Director Sir evaluated the posters and wrote the number assigned to the poster that they thought was the best among the rest. The top two winning teams were determined after the scores were tallied. On the next day, the results were displayed on the notice board. The first position was bagged by Tanishq Tayal and Manan Tak and Abhijeet Kumar and Vithal Soni bagged the second position.

 

TRIVIA FIGHT

HR Club of the Department of Management hosted HRM Club activity- “TRIVIA FIGHT 2023” on 16TH January 2023. This activity and gathering was open to the students of all the Departments for participation. There were 11 teams in total, each with two members; there were total 22 participants.

Three rounds were conducted, covering every aspect of HRM. The event began with some motivational words from Dr. G.P. Mishra- Professor, Department of Management.  After the speech, the participants were informed about the rules and regulations and then the 1st round i.e., a quick fire round began. The round ended with elimination of some teams and the remaining team proceeded to the next round, which involved questions related to basic knowledge. Two teams advanced to the final round.

Each team faced rapid fire questions in the final round. After the points were totalled, the results were announced in which Hemant Singh Shekhawat and Vinayak of BBA VI semester bagged the 1st position.

Vote of Thanks and group photo marked the end of the event.

 

Sustainable Product Pitch- Innovative/ Challenging/ Exciting

The event was organized by Markothem (Marketing Club) under the guidance Mrs. Purvi Mathur ( Faculty, Department of Management) to create a platform to showcase the pitching skills and present sustainable ideas to design our future. Vinayak Chaturvedi of BBA Semester V was the student coordinator.

The event was organized on September 20, 2022. The judges of the event were Dr. Roopali Sharma (Professor & In charge, Department of Management), Mrs. Nidhi Singh (Faculty, Department of Environmental Sciences), and Dr. Kusum Lata Mishra (Faculty, Department of Management).

The winner team was from the BBA Semester I. Vinayak Chaturvedi of BBA Semester V was the student coordinator.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO JAIPUR DAIRY ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2022

An industrial visit to JAIPUR DAIRY was organized by the Department of Management on September 16, 2022 in which the BBA and MBA students along with faculty members - Dr. Jyoti K Chandel, Mrs. Purvi Mathur, Dr. Priyanshu Sharma and Dr.Kusum Lata Mishra participated. The students interacted with the HR & Production Departments and got the insights about the products prepared by the Dairy like Paneer, Buttermilk, Butter. Information about the procurement of raw material, market for finished products, advertising, distribution channel etc. was shared with the students.

An Invited  Talk on “What Brought You Here, Will not Take You There” was conducted by Mr. Harshit Malviya, Deputy Vice-President & Head HR- Commercial Banking & Government Banking, AU Small Finance Bank on 06 September 2022. Dr. Roopali Sharma-In charge   Management Department , welcomed the guest . Mr. Harshit talked about significance of choosing the right career path. He motivated the students to make the best of campus life. In the last he emphasized upon the role of hardwork, communication skills and dedication in successful professional life. BUSINESS BUZZ 2022

 Department of Management hosted business buzz and Business Buzz 2022 on August 30, a gathering that was open to all departments There were 18 teams in total, each with two members.

During the intermission, an audience. round was held in which both students as well as faculty members participated actively.

Each team received five questions in the final round. After the points were totaled, the results were announced in which Zahid Jabbar Khan & Monit Parashare of ECE & CSE bagged the 1st position and Heena Jethwani and Sanya Jain bagged the second one.

International Conference on Sustainability: Research, Education and Practice (SREP-2022) , 30-31 May, 2022

The Government of India has launched the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to honour and celebrate 75 years of progressive India and the magnificent history of its people, culture, and achievements. The Department of Management of BIT Mesra, Jaipur, Lalpur, Noida, and Patna is hosting the two days International Conference on Sustainability: Research, Education and Practice on 30-31May, 2022.

This conference provides a platform for deliberations on sustainability as a form of celebration

of the progress of the country. In the contemporary world, sustainability has emerged as an important area of focus in research, education, and practice. Sustainability is a paradigm concerned about the future in which environmental, societal, and economic considerations are balanced in the pursuit of improved quality of life.

The conference has Three main tracks: Sustainability and Human Resource Management, Sustainability in Marketing Practices and Research, and Sustainability in Public Services and General Management. Seventy Seven Research papers will be presented under different tracks in two days international conference covering the Sustainability in the various areas identified

The conference has distinguished expert speakers from academia and industry  to deliver Plenary Sessions during the course of the event.

Markothan- Marketing Club of BIT, Jaipur, Campus organized an event on  “Tintinnabulation” – Rephrasing of Advertising Jingles

Markothan- Marketing club of BIT, Jaipur Campus organized a student event on “ Tintinnabulation”- Rephrasing of the Advertising Jingles on 23rd March, 2022. In this three teams participated and there was a round for the audience to participate in identifying the jingles of various brands of the companies.

The event was judged by Dr. Jyoti Kumar Chandel, Assistant Professor- Department of Management and Mrs. Nidhi Singh, Associate Lecturer- Department of Environmental Science. Team II (Swastik Sharma and Harsh Tongia) of BBA VIth semester was declared winner of the event.

The event was successful in enhancing understanding about the concept of Jingles and its impact on advertising recalling.

A webinar on “Digital Transformation and Service Transition”  organized under the SARC Jaipur, 19th March, 2022

A Webinar on “Digital Transformation and Service Transition” was conducted by  Mr. Aashish Singh, The Program Director, HCL America Inc. on 19th March, 2022.

Mr. Aashish talked about the digital transformation and its utility. The areas where digital transformations are taking place being identified in IT Process, Operations- Business Model, HR Procurement and Organization Culture. He also gave an assignment to the students on designing a career model with incorporation of challenges and technology up gradation. The Target audience for this session was Management and Engineering students. The session was interactive and knowledge based.

FinPro -Finance Club of BIT Jaipur Campus organized an event on “Decoding Union Budget 2022: Impact and Analysis”

FinPro - Finance Club of BIT Jaipur Campus organized a student event on "Decoding Union Budget 2022: Impact and Analysis" on February 10, 2022. In the event four teams qualified and gave each other neck-to-neck competition. The event was judged by Dr. Piyush Gupta- Assistant Professor, CSE and Dr. J. K. Chandel, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Management.

Team A ( Akshat Jangir- BBA VI, Aryan Jain-BBA I, Abhijeet Kmar -BBA I and Niharika Gupta -BBA I) from Department of Management was declared winner of the event.

The event was successful in elaborating important highlights of Union Budget 2022 and its sector-wise analysis. 

Business Quiz -2022

Business Quiz -2022 was conducted by the Department of Management, BIT Jaipur Campus on January 18, 2022 using Virtual Platform of MS Teams. Dr. Roopali Sharma- Prof. and Incharge and other faculty members –Mrs. Purvi Mathur, Mrs. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Kusum Lata Mishra encouraged students during the event.

This event was organized for the curious minds to analyze their knowledge and to develop competitive skills. The competition covered various areas identified related to General Knowledge, Business, Brands and Entrepreneurs.

Abhijay Tambi of BBA –II and Vandhan Mehta of BBA – VI of Team A were the winners based on end-scores.
